Every month we have a meeting in the Conference Room at the Kitchens, hosted by the Wisconsin Procurement Institute.  They bring a lot of information to the table for users in regards to selling to government agencies, from the small accounts to Federal.  This month is a special treat, with multiple speakers from a wide background with an immense amount of valuable information.

We are changing the amount of Informational Sessions that we offer every month.  Instead of two a month, we will now be offering one most months.  This month, October, we have cancelled the Saturday session and are still holding the Tuesday session.  I have updated the list posted on this site.

 

You can still contact Adam to set-up a private tour and to get information on how to use the Kitchens.

Food Summit 2014

The UW-Extension is hosting “Digging Into the Local Food System: Be a Part of the Solution”, on October 24.  It looks to be a great event with a wide-reaching draw in the local food scene, from farmers to gardeners, chefs to educators.

Here is a list of upcoming information sessions at the FEED Kitchens.  These sessions are open to anyone who wants to learn more about our facility and its uses, whether they are looking to start a business, bake Christmas cookies or just want to know what this building in the middle of the parking lot is.  To reserve a spot in one of the sessions email Adam Haen, the FEED manager with your name, the name of any guests you are bringing, the date and your telephone number.

On October 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm there is a great event being held at FEED to give exposure to non-profits working in our community.  There will be food and fun.  Come dressed up for a chance to win an award.

Fall FEED Bazaar

Our quarterly Open House Bazaar will be happening on Saturday, October 4, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the FEED Kitchens.  Users will be handing out samples, selling products and meeting with anyone who wants to learn more about what the businesses using FEED do.  There will also be tours and information on the Kitchens available.

Due to lack of sign-up (and the Badger Game) we will not be holding an information session this coming Saturday, September 27, 2014. We will still be holding one next week Tuesday, September 30, from 6:00 to 7:30.

Mad Maiden Shrub Tasting

Mad Maiden Shrub is a flavored vinegar for making drinks.
A shrub is a drink made with vinegar, harkening back to colonial times before we had soda.
Weds Oct 1st at Old Sugar Distillery’s Tasting Room 5-8 we are having a party to celebrate our newest flavor, a mixed berry and fruit concoction in cider vinegar called Orchard Overdrive.
Michelle Duvall and Doug Brown will be playing upbeat jazz.
Underground Foods will provide snacks.
The cocktail of the month at Old Sugar Distillery is the Maiden Queen; Queen Jennie Sorgum Whiskey, Orchard Overdrive Shrub, mexican coke, lemon syrup.
