Article: FEED to Go Update

When the first Safer at Home orders came down in March 2020 FEED Kitchens was quick to pivot and begin providing free heat and eat meals to those less fortunate in our community. At its height in the summer of 2020, FEED to Go was distributing 600 meals a day.

As we begin 2022, FEED to Go is wrapping up and will finish delivering its last meals at the end of March. That’s two full years of providing chef-made meals to our community. By the end of the initiative, we will have delivered 40,000 meals.

FEED to Go-employed chefs already work at FEED Kitchens, so these businesses were able to stay in operation despite the loss of vending opportunities. A special thanks to El Wiscorican, Jolly Frog, Cafe Costa Rica, and Melly-Mel’s Catering for providing wonderful chef-cooked meals.
